1001bit tools

is a collection of shareware plugins (Ruby scripts) for Google Sketchup that are dedicated for architectural works.

Imagine...create 3d models of staircases, spiral staircase, escalators, walls, doors and windows, and even self-generated roof rafters, by keying in the parameters, dimensions, then with a simple mouse click --> they're done! in 3d!

1001Shadows is a Shadow Analysis tool for Sketchup.
With 1001Shadows, you can plot series of shadows between 2 designated time (eg. from 08:00 to 16:00) with fixed intervals.
You can also pick on a point to analyse the duration in which the point will fall under the shadow of the building.
1001Shadows is developed in collaboration with Takeshi Hashimoto, and currently available in Japanese.

How?

Sketchup (V4 and later) comes with Ruby API, which allows users to write customized scripts to automate complicated functions. The tools that we provide are Ruby scripts meant to facilitate architectural works.

The installation of 1001bit.com ruby scripts are easy. We provide a standard menu which helps to manage/categorize the scripts. Simply...

unzip the scripts that you've downloaded into Sketchup's plugins folder.
copy the 1001bit_tools.rb file into Sketchup plugins folder and you're done!
